Role Description
As a QA Automation Engineer at Renaissance Systems, Inc. (RSI), you will design, develop, and maintain automated test suites to support the quality and performance of RSI’s software solutions. You will implement automated regression testing, integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines, and collaborate with development teams to continuously improve test coverage and efficiency.
You will work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment supporting ongoing automation efforts while advancing QA innovation and best practices.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test plans and test cases using industry-standard frameworks and tools.
- Implement automated regression testing to validate application stability and ensure high-quality releases.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery and early defect detection.
- Collaborate with developers and product teams to align automation strategies with evolving system requirements.
- Improve test coverage and execution efficiency across multiple platforms and application layers.
- Stay current through training and certifications on emerging QA tools, test automation trends, scripting languages, and quality assurance best practices.
- Document test approaches, maintain reusable test components, and track automated test results.
- Participate in Agile or iterative development cycles and sprint planning meetings.
- Embrace RSI’s engineering best practices and actively support a cohesive, high-performing team culture.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies, automation frameworks, and test scripting principles.
- Solid understanding of relational databases and proficiency in writing SQL queries to support testing of data-driven UI components and integrations, and back end data validation.
- Proficient in automation scripting using languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Java.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in QA processes within the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including automated test planning, execution, and defect tracking, with familiarity in version control best practices.
- Familiarity with common development management and communications tools (GitHub, Teams, SharePoint, etc.).
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical or analytical field, or relevant experience.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in software quality assurance with a focus on test automation.
- Experience with tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Postman, or similar.
- Experience testing REST APIs, UI components, and backend workflows through automation.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.
Other Requirements:
- Be a US Citizen or possess a valid work visa.
- Valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
- Provide at least three (3) references, past salary, and work history.
- Overnight travel to other RSI offices and client sites, as needed.
