When you were hired, what were your career goals?
I was hired by the original owners of RSI – Betty McKenna and Steve Carter. My immediate goal when I came to RSI was to complete my degree. And working as a contractor would allow flexible hours to do that. My thought, at the time, was that I would get a job elsewhere when I graduated. But after I graduated from UT I found that I liked where I was. First, they were very supportive while I was going to school and they really offered the things that I was looking for – a challenge, diverse work and good people. Those things continue to this day.

What has kept you at RSI for 30 years?
What has kept me at RSI all these years goes back to the challenging and diverse work, and of course, good people. I love the variety of work – being involved in all aspects of the software development life cycle and the ability to do something different every day. At RSI, I have had the privilege of working with some very smart people over the years. I love how this challenges me to be better. I have also found that the RSI team seems to have no hidden agenda – everyone shares what they know and is willing to help one another. I feel it has always been this way throughout my career at RSI and I’m happy to say, it is still that way.
I love having a long-term work/friend relationship with my co-workers and clients. I especially enjoy the comradery that I feel with my current team and the cooperative nature that we all share.
